I'd live here. Would you?

Here is my lastest. All finished and done. It's very satisfying and this time it only took two attempts! I wanted to start on some pictures I took of run down buildings in Nottingham but annoyingly I can't find them anyway and I really, really don't want to go back and take them again. Perhaps Plymouth will have to do. It is pretty ugly after all.

I hope you enjoy this newest offering from my pen (and ink.)

The one above is in pencil. I'm sure you worked that out though.

It's all over now baby blue.

I have sort of put off doing this for a while I think. I wasn't really sure what to draw I guess. But this came to me today so I thought it would be good for me to get something out of it. I like it, it isn't a drawing about a house and strangers. It's about me and my ex boyfriend falling out of love. I'm annoyed about the close up pictures, they didn't come out very well. I must get my scanner fixed I suppose. Anyway, hope you like it.

This is the whole thing. Awful photograph.

one afternoon later...

I think I might be losing my touch. This drawing took me all day. I'm not even sure if I like it that much. There are only so many houses I can draw. Might start drawing other things in rainbow colours instead. Anyway. This is my latest commision un framed as yet. Will keep you posted about the rainbow coloured drawings though!

Branching out

I have been a bit rubbish of late and haven't really done much in the way of drawing. The drawings for The Hand That Feeds have pretty much stopped. I got a bit worried they were going to be really rubbish. I'd like to get back on that boat soon though. We'll see. Today though I managed to draw a little scene. It's based on the moneycentre in Plymouth where I used to work and hated every second of. I feel so sorry for the people that work there all the time. Is that bad? Maybe they enjoy it?

The cat is all runny though.

I suck at drawing people

I really and truly am very bad at drawing people. This is annoying as I did complete my time drawing Naked Dave and Jugs Jackie during my foundation year. Still. Perhaps if I just keep drawing them from behind it will be easier?

An actual page from my sketchbook. Now there is something you don't see everyday. Well I do and now you can too. Anyway.

house beautiful

My lastest commission completed. Hurruh! It's super good to finish things off. I'm excited to see it get framed. Yes that's the best best. The frame. I am starting to wish that I lived in so many different houses. Small tall ones, short fat ones. All. Perhaps I will just carry on drawing them first. Well I'm off to draw something that isn't a house now.

Love

My sister gave me a Jeffrey Brown book a few years ago. I fell in love. I love it.

Commision(s)

It's very exciting showing people your work and have them say they like it, even more exciting when they hand over cash to buy it but I think the most exciting part is when people commision you. I think it's actually amazing. So a big thank you, you have made my day, week and summer.

Drawing on the sewing machine

Working on Matt's story. I kind of like these. I think they need something else though. Perhaps a bit more working in?

From my sketchbook

Here are some small pieces from my sketchbook. They are from when I was working on my drawings of houses.

This drawing shows some people who were standing on a street corner in Plymouth. My friend and I sat in the car and watched people move about. I like this one because the people have no faces or expressions and it gives me time to think for myself about what they could be discussing.I like the man's feet in this drawing. I thought he was waiting for a bus. He wasn't.

I love to draw houses. Especially chimney stacks. Pencil free line drawing.
